News From Willsboro Bay Marina

New Sea Anchor Line Configuration

We are in the process of reconfiguring the "sea anchor" lines which are provided for most of the outer slips at the marina. Rather than simply attaching a float to the end of each anchor line, we will permanently attach the end to the dock. We will lengthen lines if necessary so that the line will be long enough to reach your cleat even with the end permanently attached to the dock. This new configuration will eliminate the possibility of lost, dropped, tangled or misplaced lines.
If you have any questions about how to attach or use your sea anchor line please consult marina management.

Important Marina Rules

We request your cooperation with the following key marina rules (see full list at http://www.wbm.us/forms/marina-rules.pdf )
  1. Please comply with our posted 5 mph limit for our entrance road, driveways and all marina property.
  2. We provide dock carts as a courtesy for you. We require prompt return to their respective storage areas once they have been unloaded. They must be secured to a cleat while they are on your dock to prevent them from being blown into the lake.

Dock 1 and 2 cart storage area is alongside of the launch ramp, dock 3 cart storage area is a rope-fenced area near the end of the lounge deck, dock 4 cart storage is a rope-fenced area along the unpaved road path to dock 4 and dock 5 cart storage is a rope-fenced area on the path leading from the dock parking area to dock 5.

  3. We set limits on the sizes of dock boxes so that they will not restrict or narrow our docks. The maximum depth is 24", the maximum length is 72” and the maximum height is 36”. You must place your dock box as close to the edge of the main “in front” of your boat. We will provide an alternate storage area for dock boxes on land if it is determined that they will narrow or restrict use of our docks.
  4. We have provided sea anchor lines for selected areas in the marina; their use is required at all times. Please see Andre, Bob or Paul if you have any questions regarding their function or how to secure to your boat.
  5. We also wish to remind our standard dockage clients to let us know when your boat will be away from the marina overnight or longer. Those who have chosen the premium dockage program and paid the additional fee may disregard this request.

New Bathhouse Combination Lock

The bathhouse entrance key lock will be replaced with a new pushbutton combination lock around May 22, 2010 and existing keys will no longer operate it. Please stop at the marina store to receive your combination. Not all marina members will be given the same combination. Don't share your combination with other marina members or other Lake Champlain boaters. We prefer that you ask us for a short-term combination when you have guests or visitors who need access. Overnight and short term visitors will be provided the short term combination which will be changed about once a week. Winter storage only clients will be provided their own combination that will be active from after Labor Day through mid June.

We appreciate your cooperation in making Willsboro Bay Marina the safest harbor for your boat on Lake Champlain.
